A Kitchen, A Dream, A Community

Chopt started as a small corner kitchen in Brooklyn in 2012. Our founders — two food-obsessed friends with a shared belief that fast food could be both bold and nutritious — set out to change the way people eat on the go.

The concept was simple: take the finest seasonal produce, pair it with globally inspired dressings and toppings, and hand-craft every bowl to order. No shortcuts, no frozen shortcuts — just real, honest food made the right way.

What began as a single Brooklyn location quickly grew into a beloved chopt restaurant brand across the United States, earning a loyal following for its commitment to quality, transparency, and flavor-forward cooking.

2012

The First Bowl

Chopt opens its first location at 1 Boerum Pl, Brooklyn. Lines form around the block on opening day as guests discover a new way to eat boldly and well.

2014

Manhattan Expansion

We brought Chopt to three Manhattan neighborhoods, proving that our farm-to-bowl philosophy resonated far beyond Brooklyn. The brand's identity solidified around freshness and speed.

2016

Going Digital

Launched our first mobile app, making it easier than ever to customize and order. Online orders accounted for 30% of all sales within the first six months of launch.

2018

Nationwide Delivery

Partnered with leading delivery platforms to bring Chopt to homes and offices nationwide. Our delivery packaging was redesigned to maintain freshness over distance.

2021

Zero-Waste Initiative

Rolled out our full sustainability program: 100% compostable packaging, food waste partnerships, and a carbon offset program across all US locations.

40 Locations & Growing
